Ok, So you have questions? Let's answer them.
Please read the FAQ's below. If you can't find the answer you are looking for then my email is at the bottom of the page!
I see you are a sports dietitian...do i need to be an athlete to see you?
Not at all! I work with clients from weekend gym warriors to competitive athletes. While I may be a Sports Dietitian, you don't need to be in sports to harness my guidance and see the benefits from working with me. A Sports Dietitian can help you level up sports performance as well as life performance. In fact, the principles of tailored sports nutrition can be applied to non-sporting people too, as part of helping you "perform" in everyday life (think workplace and the family life). If that doesn't convince you then hopefully the fact that I am duel qualified as both an Accredited Practising Dietitian and an Accredited Sports Dietitian. If you have a problem that needs nutrition solvin'...I can help you out.
Do you work with vegans and vegetarians?
No problemo! I've worked with a number of vegan and vegetarian clients over the years and helped them master their nutrition and achieve their goals. Contact me and let's chat about your goals and needs to see if my coaching experience is the right fit to help you become the best vegan/vegetarian you can be.
Is your coaching Online or In-person?
I know what you are thinking...do I need to drive to see the Dietitian or can I zoom in via virtual video and get my nutrition sorted in the comfort of my pyjamas? The answer is both. I have limited some in-person availability at 3 locations in Brisbane which is limited to the Nutrition Assessment sessions primarily. However, all consultations are available as online sessions and my 90 day nutrition coaching experience is exclusively online. Simply reach out to me and ask me what options are available to you.
Do you bulk bill?
We do not generally bulk bill (but I do accept EPC care plans where a gap fee applies). Good news is that this doesn't stop you from benefiting from my high end nutrition consulting services. I strongly believe that my nutrition coaching experience is impactful and can truly transform your life and results. That comes with a price that is still great value considering the peak potential I can help you reach and the importance of health and wellbeing. Here at The Climbing Dietitian, we believe that real results require long term commitment and that you need to make an investment in your health and wellbeing.
Whats the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?
The age old question. Let's answer it for you.
Dietitian: University qualified health professional who specialises in and is an expert of the science of food and nutrition. We have to complete many hours of yearly professional development and abide by strict quality control measures and regulations to ensure that we provide the best, safest care for our clients. Essentially, Dietitians are the safest bet when seeking a nutrition expert to provide you with individualised nutrition management.
Nutritionist: In Australia, the term Nutritionist is not a regulated term so anyone can call themselves a Nutritionist. There are qualified Nutritionist's, however, who are university qualified but they are limited to providing general nutrition advice (not individualised nutrition therapy) and typically work with community nutrition and population level work.
The only one who can provide individualised nutrition advice, specific nutrition planning and programming, and nutritional care are Accredited Practising Dietitians and Sports Dietitians. I am both. In fact, I am also an Accredited Sports Nutritionist. So you are in safe hands, my friend.

Do you do templated meal plans?
Oh yes, the biggest commodity in the nutrition space: the meal plan. I moved away from focusing on meal plans years ago when I realised they are temporary fixes at best and were not serving my clients in the way I wanted it to. So to answer your question, no I don't create meal plans as a service (Nor as a focal point of my coaching for that matter).
I developed a unique approach to nutrition called The Flexible Macro whereby I work with you 1:1 and help you harness a flexible dieting system to help you get results. This involves strategically implementing calorie and macro based nutrition programming rather than giving you a list of specific meals you have to eat "exactly" and getting bored along the way. Essentially, meal plan reliance is the old way of dieting that I personally didn't feel served my clients at a peak level. The flexible approach to nutrition has enabled both me and my clients to transform our results.

Do you only help people with fat loss?
Helping my clients achieve fat loss is the bread and butter of a Dietitian, I know! But it is FAR from the only thing I can help you with.
I have worked with clients to help them achieve:
Muscle gain, performance enhancement, better fuelling and recovery, manage gut issues such as IBS, regain health and wellbeing, improve energy levels, and help them feel happier and more confident.

How often would I need to see you if I started COACHING?
Already thinking about how long you will need to see me for aye? :( Nah I'm joking. Understandable question to ask so let's answer it for you.
I require a minimum of 3 months commitment to nutrition coaching and I work with clients in 3 month blocks of time (or climbs as I call them). This ensures we give it enough time to truly build the momentum and lay down the foundations of your nutrition plan - because nutrition success requires more than sporadic one-off sessions.
I have found that 90 days is not too long and not too short. It's short enough to allow you to truly focus on your goals and reflect on your progress while being long enough to allow you to actually build traction and see change. So in a nutshell, you would work with me in minimum 3 month blocks of time (but there are options for 6 month and 12 month packages too if you are ready to truly rumble in the jungle of nutrition).
If you are interested in learning about my signature 90 day coaching experience and seeing if we are a good fit to work together, CLICK HERE or fill out the contact form on the contact page and I will get back to you ASAP.

So there is not way to see you for just an initial consultation?
Yes, you can. While my consulting services operate in 3 month blocks, I also understand that sometimes you need to learn more about the person you are looking to invest in and want to get a "taste test" of coaching and a feel for things. That is why there is also the option of a one-off Initial Nutrition Assessment session. After this session is complete, if we both feel I can help you then I will invite you to join my 90 day nutrition coaching experience.
If you are interested in starting with a one-off Nutrition Assessment first, then email or call me and let me know.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING AN INITIAL NUTRITION ASSESSMENT SESSION?
During our Initial Nutrition Assessment session, we will assess everything about your nutrition, training, lifestyle, goals, obstacles, and previous history. This will ensure I have all the information I need to provide the best possible advice and nutrition plan for you. Ensuring my advice is individualised to you is key, so this assessment session is a way for me to ensure I fully understand you and your needs and can create the first steps to move you towards better results and achieving your goal/s.
The session typically takes about 45 mins but can go for an hour depending on your unique circumstances and on what we need to discuss.
To book an Initial Assessment with me, please email me or call me and we shall sort that out for you. Available as both an in-person consultation and an online consultation for your convenience.

CAN I CLAIM PRIVATE HEALTH REBATES FOR YOUR SERVICES?
As I am an Accredited Practising Dietitian and a Medicare registered provider, I am covered by most major private health funds in Australia. Many of my clients use private health while seeing me and are able to claim back rebates. Please ensure you do check with your specific provider for eligibility and further details - including if you have the correct level of cover and on how much of a rebate you will be covered for. So in short, yes as long as you have the right fund and right cover then you should have no dramas using your private health when accessing my nutrition coaching and consulting services.
DO YOU HAVE ANY TESTIMONIALS FROM CLIENTS TO SHOW WHAT YOU CAN DO?
Unfortunately, in Australia we are forbidden as Dietitians by our regulatory body to use testimonials to promote our services. So while I have countless success stories from previous and current clients, I can not provide "testimonials" as such. However, I do have many Google reviews for you that will show you the positive experience my clients have had working with me. You should be seeing a popup at the bottom of my screen scrolling through all the 5 star reviews from happy and satisfied clients but you can also CLICK HERE to go read them if interested.
You can also call me or email me and we can have a personal 1:1 chat and I can demonstrate the value and expertise I can bring to the table to help you reach your peak potential - no matter if you consider yourself a competitive athlete or a dedicated gym goer wanting to better themselves (or anywhere in between).
