10 Signs To See A Sports Dietitian- Nutritionist - Brisbane Dietitian
I think it is safe to say that “dieting”  is never all smooth sailing and is seldom as straightforward as maybe some people expect it to be.

Throughout my years working as a Dietitian and Nutritionist, I have seen firsthand how many dieters are leaving results on the table because of incorrect execution of nutrition, not having the right plan and direction, or simply spinning in circles because they are guessing their way to results.

What ends up happening is you are stuck on the “ hamster wheel of dieting”  as I call it.

Sound familiar?

Having a Dietitian in your corner can be the difference maker for many. So is it something that might be what you need right now to have a breakthrough?

In today’s blog, I share a (non-exhaustive) list of 10 signs you may want to consider giving a Dietitian a buzz so you can get some nutrition expertise working in your favour. 
So you are working on your nutrition in the hopes that you can become healthier, happier, and more confident in your body.

Or maybe it’s for sporting and/or gym performance: with the aspirations of dialing down your fuelling, recovery, and performance nutrition strategies so you can regain your competitive edge.

Perhaps you simply want to feel your best - in mind and body.

It doesn’t matter what your goal is as nutrition will be able to play a role in this game as a key player - provided we are talking about goals related to health, mind, and body. 

When it comes to nutrition, an expert you should take notice of is a Dietitian or Sports Dietitian who has the experience and know-how of helping individuals leverage nutrition for impactful results.

This means you should have an understanding of when it is time to be proactive and hire a Dietitian and Nutritionist to join your journey towards peak potential. So what are the signs hmmm….

Here are 10 (not always obvious) signs you should probably seek out a Dietitian and Nutritionist to join your journey and beat the villains in your quest to achieve peak potential (and your goals).

  1. You are in a cycle of weight loss followed by weight regain. Rinse and repeat
  2. You are not seeing any progress (or less than you would like)
  3. The dieting process is causing you stress, confusion, and potentially anxiety
  4. You are noticing a negative mindset around food manifesting within you
  5. You see foods as either “good” vs “bad” (allowed vs not allowed)
  6. You have a health condition or abnormal bloodworks that complicates the dieting process and requires specific intervention
  7. Your performance (in the gym, sport, or life) is going down like the prices during a Black Friday sale)
  8. You lack accountability (and know you thrive on it) to keep on keepin’ on!
  9. You are ready for long term change and real results (not temporary ones)
  10. You are getting sick all too often (aka immune health has a lot to be desired)

As I mentioned earlier, this list is neither exhaustive nor should you need to tick off every single point for you to deem yourself ready to harness the power of Dietetics. 

However this list does serve as a very solid starting point from which you can learn from and use the information to help audit your current progress and perhaps struggles, to see if it may be time to bring in the big guns of nutrition strategy.
